A late Alexandre Lacazette equalizer has earned Arsenal a point. Arsenal had the lion share of possession and had put Liverpool under pressure throughout the game but were unfortunate to concede first when James Milner capitalized on the indecisiveness of keeper Bernd Leno.
Earlier in the first half, both sides had found the net through Lacazette and Mane but the goals were ruled out as offside but there has been a lot of debate on whether the one scored by the Reds should deserved to be called a offside goal.
This had been the first time that Emery had started his big four attacking players together: Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Mesut Ozil and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as the attacking trio behind Alexandre Lacazette. As the first half-developed they came to dominate the possession and Arsenal should have scored by the break, although they gave up chances too.
Arsenal found the back of the net with 8 minutes to go through Lacazette, the Frenchman had to go away from goal to get free of Alisson and then turned sharply to sweep the ball into the goalkeeper’s far corner with his right foot, this proved Arsenal’s resilience and ability to overturn the scores from losing positions once again.
Liverpool remain unbeaten in the League and temporarily top the League table whilst Arsenal remain fourth and extend their unbeaten streak of 14 games across all competitions.
