Arsenal Gives Injury Update On Koscielny, Elneny, Sokratis And Monreal

Laurent Koscielny, Nacho Monreal, Mohamed Elneny and Sokratis Papastathopoulos have all missed Arsenal's last two matches.

The gunners are on an unbeaten run of 14 games and they will be hoping to maintain their record on Thursday when they welcome Sporting Lisbon at the Emirates Stadium. Arsenal is however currently in an injury crisis and the club has today issued out a statement on the status of its injured players via it’s  official website.

Nacho Monreal has a right hamstring injury but the club says that the Spanish left back will be assessed before their upcoming match against Sporting Lisbon on Thursday. If he isn’t available for the match against the Portuguese side, the gunners will use Sead Kolasinac who recently returned on Saturday as the gunners made a 1-1 draw with Liverpool.

Laurent Koscielny has not made any appearance for the gunners this season but Unai Emery nevertheless chose him as Arsenal’s main captain. The Frenchman is still in the process of being integrated back into full training, we however don’t know when he will finally be on Arsenal’s team sheet but he will surely be back at the end of this month.

Sokratis Papastathopoulos has missed many matches of Arsenal in the last few weeks, he has an ankle injury and he will also be assessed before their game against Sporting Lisbon. Mohamed Elneny has a thigh injury and is expected to make a return to full training in one week from now.
