Arteta reveals Arsenal’s plans to stop Villa’s Ollie Watkins from scoring against them

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has revealed his plan to stop Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins ahead of their upcoming clash in the Premier League. The Gunners are currently sitting at the top of the Premier League table with 36 points after 15 league games, and their next game will be against Aston Villa at Villa Park on 9th December, 2023.

When asked about how Arsenal plan to stop Ollie Watkins, Arteta told Arsenal’s official website, “Just like with other strikers, don’t give him the ball in the box! That’s his main quality.” This statement indicates that Arsenal will be focusing on denying Watkins any opportunities in front of goal to neutralize his threat.

Aston Villa are currently in third place with 32 points and will pose a tough challenge for Arsenal. Ollie Watkins has been in fine form this season, scoring eight goals and providing six assists in the Premier League so far. His attacking prowess makes him a key player for Aston Villa, and Arteta’s plan to stop him shows the level of respect they have for his abilities.

After a thrilling 4-3 victory against Luton Town in their recent Premier League game, Arsenal will be looking to maintain their winning momentum as they face Aston Villa. Arteta’s tactical approach to stopping Ollie Watkins will be crucial in determining the outcome of the upcoming clash.
