Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has given an update on the fitness of his squad as they prepare to host Manchester United at the Emirates Stadium in a crucial midweek Premier League fixture. The Spaniard, speaking to Football London, revealed that the club is closely monitoring several players following their intense recent schedule.
“We’re gonna have a meeting this afternoon. We have done a training session. We monitored and kept some players away from certain activities. They all want to play,” Arteta explained.
Arsenal’s schedule has been relentless, with a series of high-stakes matches testing the squad’s depth. Injuries to key players have been a concern throughout the season, and Arteta’s comments suggest that some of his stars are still managing their fitness levels. However, the positive note is that the players’ eagerness to contribute remains unwavering.
The Gunners will need all the firepower they can muster as they look to continue their excellent form, which has propelled them to second place in the Premier League table. The clash against Manchester United is not only a chance to maintain momentum but also an opportunity to avenge previous encounters.
With Arsenal currently benefitting from the return of several players from injury, including Bukayo Saka and Jurrien Timber, Arteta will hope his squad remains fit and focused for the busy December fixture list. He faces key decisions on player rotation and ensuring the team’s readiness for the challenges ahead.
Fans will be eagerly awaiting further updates on the squad after Arteta’s meeting, hoping the injury concerns do not disrupt the team’s rhythm as they chase glory in both domestic and European competitions. Arsenal’s depth and resilience will undoubtedly be tested, starting with this high-stakes showdown against Manchester United.
